Oblon Announces Election of Three New Partners
Alexandria, VA– Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, LLP is pleased to announce the election of three new partners- Aldo Martinez, John Presper and Ryan Smith- effective in 2019.
Mr. Martinez is a senior patent attorney in the firm’s Electrical Patent prosecution group. His practice encompasses all aspects of patent prosecution, including client counseling and patent portfolio development, invalidity and non-infringement opinions, and post-grant proceedings.
Mr. Presper is a senior patent attorney in the firm’s Litigation and ITC Litigation practice groups. Mr. Presper represents and advises clients involved in patent and other intellectual property disputes in federal court, the ITC, and the USPTO. He also provides patentability, infringement and validity opinions. Mr. Presper’s litigation experience and opinion work covers a broad range of technologies in the chemical, electrical, and mechanical arts.
Mr. Smith is a patent prosecution lawyer in the firm's Mechanical Patent Prosecution group where he advises clients and facilitates the acquisition of U.S. patents. Mr. Smith has considerable experience utilizing the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) program between the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO). He often conducts personal interviews with the USPTO Examining Corps on behalf of his clients to expedite the prosecution process.
