Joint Symposium on U.S. and European Patent Practice - Important Aspects for Practitioners - Fall 2024
Please join us to learn about recent developments and current aspects of IP practice in the US and Europe. .
At the 2024 joint symposium, we will together examine selected current aspects of protecting innovations in the U.S. and in Europe considering both pre- and post-grant perspectives.
While similarities exist, applicants for U.S. and European patents need to be aware of the peculiarities and most recent developments in each system in order to achieve the best results. Thus, please join us to learn about recent developments and current aspects of IP practice in the U.S. and Europe.
In particular, the symposium will address the following important topics for today’s practitioners:
1. The Unified Patent Court: Experiences after the 1st year in practice
2. U.S. practice on terminal disclaimers, including the recent proposed rules by the USPTO
3. New referral to the EPO’s Enlarged Board of Appeal on claim interpretation G 1/24
4. Claim Construction in the U.S.
5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Life Sciences
6. Protecting AI inventions in the U.S.: New USPTO Guidelines on AI inventions
