Oblon is strongly committed to supporting and improving the community in which we work and live.John R. Barker, COO
Below are examples of organizations that the firm and its employees support in various capacities.
Salvation Army Annual Angel Tree Program: The Capital Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators organizes the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program each year. The Salvation Army has been serving the National Capital Area for more than 125 years and has expanded to assisting close to 90,000 individuals. The Angel Tree program is a function of the Salvation Army that operates during the holiday season and helps over 6,400 families and 14,000 children.
The American Red Cross: The Firm supports the American Red Cross in its mission to prevent and relieve suffering through disaster relief; supporting military families; lifesaving blood, health and safety services; and international services.
We make every effort to engage in environmentally sustainable practices by participating in recycling programs and energy conservation and by encouraging our employees to consider alternative commuting methods.
Importantly, Oblon’s office building has been certified at the "Gold" level under LEED as of October 2014. We have also received an Energy Star Certification every year since 2009. Our building management and facilities team is always working with firm management to ensure that the firm is ahead of the curve with regard to waste and energy use reduction, recycling and reuse programs and in communicating the importance of related practices to Oblon's employees.
