Alexandria, Va. – Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, P.C. is pleased to announce that Arthur I. Neustadt, head of the firm’s Litigation Department and a member of its Board of Directors, has been named to the 2006 list of “The Best Lawyers in America” by Best Lawyers. Published biennially since 1983, “The Best Lawyers in America” is widely regarded as the preeminent referral guide to the legal profession in the United States.

Mr. Neustadt has been actively involved in intellectual property litigation in courts throughout the United States for more than 35 years. He has successfully tried jury and bench cases in all areas of technology before the federal district courts and argued appeals before the Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit and the regional circuit courts of appeal. He has lectured widely, both domestically and internationally, on intellectual property litigation. His recent cases includeFesto v. SMC where he was lead counsel for SMC and argued the case before the Supreme Court and twice before the en banc Federal Circuit; Medtronic v. Guidant (congestive heart failure treatment patent held valid); CPI v. St. Jude (implantable cardiac defibrillator patent held valid); Li v. Toshiba(semiconductor patent held inequitably procured and attorney fees awarded); Ajinomoto v. ADM (recombinant DNA patent held valid and infringed) and Loral Fairchild v. Toshiba (semiconductor patent held invalid and not infringed).
