Yongan (Allen) Yuan, Ph.D., is a technical advisor in the firm's Chemical Patent Prosecution group focusing on patent preparation and prosecution for domestic and international clients. Allen’s technical expertise includes extensive knowledge in the areas of organic chemistry and catalysis, drug discovery and formulation development, specialty chemicals and materials.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Yuan worked as a scientist at Corteva Agriscience focusing on design and development of novel formulation and delivery technologies for new and registered active ingredients. He's had extensive experience working closely with commercial, regulatory, operations, legal, and R&D in a highly collaborative setting delivering business objectives and growing the platform.
Dr. Yuan obtained his doctoral degree in organic chemistry at Georgia State University under the supervision of Prof. Hao Xu, where he conducted research in complex-molecule synthesis and transition metal catalyzed asymmetric catalysis. His research of iron-catalyzed nitrogen atom transfer reactions enables new approaches to drug discovery and development. Dr. Yuan holds 7 technical publications and 2 patents and patent applications.
