Peifang Tian, Ph.D. is a patent agent in the firm's Electrical and Mechanical Practice Group. She has drafted and prosecuted applications for domestic and foreign companies in a wide array of technologies, including video coding, telecommunications, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, automotive related technologies, computer software, semiconductor processing and devices, medical devices, and consumer electronics.
Prior to joining Oblon, Dr. Tian has worked in academia for twelve years, first at University of California, San Diego as an Assistant Project Scientist and then at John Carroll University as an Assistant and Associate Professor. She also gained industrial R&D experiences as an optical engineer at the Global Research Center of General Electric. As a result, she has extensive research and engineering experiences in organic light emitting devices (OLEDs), optical systems, biomedical imaging and its applications in neuroscience research.
Dr. Tian holds US, European, and German patent(s) for her work on OLEDs and holographic data storage. She has more than twenty peer-reviewed publications. Her work on a new ultrafast laser spectroscopic technology was considered a significant achievement in the field and published in Science.
