U.S. Government Shutdown, USPTO to Remain Open
While the U.S. federal government has shut down effective 12:01 am EST, Saturday, January 20, 2018, the USPTO remains open. The USPTO has sufficient funds to remain open for a few weeks past the deadline. Should these funds be exhausted before the federal government reopens, the USPTO will maintain a small staff of employees in order to continue accepting new applications and attend to any critical functions, such as the IT network.
At this time we are continuing with business as usual and will provide updates as necessary.
Please contact Oblon should you have any questions.
