Earthquake in Japan

  • March 16, 2011
  • Firm News

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great shock and sadness that we learned of Friday’s horrendous earthquake on northern Honshu. We hope and pray that all of your colleagues, family and friends came through this horrific natural disaster unharmed.

It is at times like these that we come to understand the fragility of human life in the face of terrific natural forces which exist in the world around us. We are confident that Japan, as it has so many times in the past, will overcome this most recent disaster and rebuild a stronger and better Japan. Japan and the United States have been good friends, and, as friends, the American people and our country are committed to helping Japan deal with this tragedy.

We know that words cannot heal the hurt that those who have lost family and friends to this terrible disaster feel. However, we do hope that our condolences to those who have lost family, friends or colleagues will help them get through the days and weeks ahead.

With our most sincere heartfelt thoughts,
Your friends at Oblon Spivak
