Anna Z. Lloyd is a partner in the firm’s Electrical Patent Prosecution practice group, where she works with clients of various sizes, from multi-national corporations to start-up businesses, to understand clients’ intellectual property needs in a broader business context and provides counseling on various matters, such as freedom to operate, portfolio management, standards-related patent matters, and drafting/prosecution strategies. In order to implement client objectives, Ms. Lloyd is adept at interfacing with inventors and Examiners to ensure time-effective drafting and prosecution of patent applications.

 Ms. Lloyd’s technical expertise spans a wide range of technologies, including broadband and broadcast communications, semiconductor device fabrication, battery safety and efficiency, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications, including in neural networks and image processing. Having worked as a Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in the area of mobile communications, Ms. Lloyd understands effective prosecution techniques and examiner interviewing strategies.  She is also knowledgeable in the area of subject matter eligibility and has helped clients understand and navigate the changing case law and guidelines related to subject matter eligibility post-Alice

During her graduate studies, Ms. Lloyd focused on nanostructure design and fabrication, as well as analysis and design of micro-electrical mechanical systems. While working toward her technical degrees, she was a software development intern at the Educational Testing Service, working on a software testing application for visually impaired test takers.
