Alexandria, Va. -- The intellectual property law firm Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P., has obtained 4,043 U.S. utility patents issued in 2009, according to numbers provided in the March issue of IP Today magazine. The firm also secured 72 design patents last year, for a total of 4,115 patents obtained. These numbers mean that Oblon, Spivak is the first law firm to obtain more than 4,000 U.S. patents in a single year, and the firm has maintained the top spot among patent firms for obtaining patents for 19 consecutive years.

“This is a record milestone for our firm,” said Richard Kelly, the firm’s managing partner. “Even in a down economy, our clients, which include top-tier companies such as Toshiba, Sony, Toyota Motors, BASF, and many others, continue to entrust us with more work.”

“I am very proud of our attorneys’ hard work and dedicated client service,” Kelly continued. “We are committed to providing the highest-quality work combined with a fair pricing structure. This philosophy has enabled us to remain the nation’s top patent law firm for nearly two decades.”

Assisting clients for 40 years, Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P. is one of the largest intellectual property specialty firms in the United States. The firm provides a full range of intellectual property services, including litigation matters in all courts, as well as trademark, copyright and patent interference services.
