Alexandria, Va.–Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P. is pleased to announce that Norman F. Oblon, one of the Firm’s founding partners, is honored in the National Law Journal’s fourth annual Legal Times Awards for Champions & Visionaries.
Visionaries are attorneys whose business or legal acumen has been key to expanding their firms, improving government or advancing the law. Oblon was recognized for changing how international companies obtain and enforce their patents and for expanding the firm’s practices to include the highly concentrated areas of litigation, interference, reexamination and ITC law. He was also cited for grooming talented academics for a successful law career by identifying promising PhD’s and paying their law school tuitions.
“We are proud that Norman’s impact on not only the firm, but also the field of intellectual property law, is being honored,” said Richard Kelly, managing partner of Oblon, Spivak. “He is a visionary who invested in people and established an infrastructure that has enabled the firm to remain a leader in intellectual property law. We look forward to his continued contributions to the firm and our clients.”
Oblon, Spivak was recognized last year by the National Law Journal's Midsize Hot list for its ability to remain competitive in what was arguably one of the most difficult times for law firms.
Assisting clients for more than 40 years, Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P. is one of the largest intellectual property specialty firms in the United States. The firm provides a full range of intellectual property services, including litigation matters in all courts, as well as trademark, copyright and patent interference services.
