Kathryn Chabal, Ph.D., is a technical advisor in the firm’s Chemical Patent Prosecution group where she focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications for domestic and international clients. She is experienced in life sciences, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and electrochemistry.

Prior to joining Oblon, Dr. Chabal earned her doctoral degree from the University of Utah, where she studied fundamental chemical reaction processes such as water oxidation and oxygen atom transfer using spectroscopic, electrochemical, and computational methods.

Following graduation, Kathryn interned as a patent engineer at a firm in Colorado, where she focused on prosecuting patent applications in wireless communication, 5G technology, and artificial intelligence.
