Yongseock (Luke) Choi is an associate in the firm’s Electrical Patent Prosecution practice group where he assists some of the world’s largest innovators with the preparation and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications. In addition, Mr. Choi has extensive engineering experience in the field of telecommunication and software systems.
Mr. Choi’s technical experience is in telecommunication systems and standards, e.g., GSM (Global System Mobile), (W) CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), and positioning technologies, using GPS, WiFi, etc. He also has deep knowledge in real-time embedded systems, smart phone platform architecture, Multiprocessor synchronization and (U) Sim (Universal Subscription Identity Module) card. Mr. Choi is SGPL (Samsung Global Expert in Language) premier 7, certified and has extensive knowledge in computer programming languages including C, C++, HTML, and XML.
Prior to joining the firm Mr. Choi worked for nearly ten years as a senior engineer in telecommunications and mobile software at Samsung Electronics and Modacomm. He also worked as an IP Law Clerk where he assisted in legal matters involving mobile and telecommunication technologies and prepared initial specification documents in English and Korean for patent registration to KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office). Mr. Choi is fluent in English and Korean.
