TAKAHIRO (TAK) MIURA is an intellectual property litigation attorney in the Litigation and Post Grant Patent practice groups. Based in the firm’s Tokyo, Japan office, Mr. Miura handles U.S. litigation and opinion work for Japanese and other global companies. He actively advises the firm’s clients concerning patent litigation strategies, pretrial considerations, alternatives to litigation, and the complexities of patent reexaminations and reissues.

From 1983 until he joined the firm in 2006, Mr. Miura worked for Sony Corporation both in Japan and in the United States, overseeing the company’s intellectual property matters. While with Sony, he oversaw U.S. patent litigation involving a wide range of technologies in the electrical and mechanical fields. Most recently, he was responsible for worldwide patent, design and trademark prosecution for all Sony groups.

Experienced in both corporate and law firm settings, Mr. Miura is particularly skilled at understanding and providing solutions to the complex legal and technical issues his clients face, including various discovery-related challenges.

Mr. Miura has lectured on U.S. patent litigation at Japan Intellectual Property Association conferences, as well as law schools and various organizations in Japan.
