KYOKO IMAI is a senior associate in the firm's Trademark and Copyright practice groups. In her role as a trademark and copyright attorney, Ms. Imai counsels clients from various sectors including start-up and emerging entities, nonprofit organizations, and domestic, foreign and international corporations. Her practice includes trademark and copyright enforcement, litigation and registration, related Internet issues, trademark clearance, domain name disputes, licensing and Customs recordations.
Ms. Imai handles all aspects of protecting clients’ rights at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and has worked on numerous opposition and cancellation actions before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). In federal court, her experience includes cases involving claims of trademark infringement, cybersquatting, copyright infringement, and false advertising. She also consults with clients about protection of marks outside of the U.S. and maintenance of worldwide trademark portfolios.
In the Internet realm, Ms. Imai provides advice on trademark and copyright issues associated with websites, user-generated content, and marketing via online media and e-mail. Ms. Imai has also handled cybersquatting disputes both through the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and before the district courts.
