David J. Kera
Of Counsel DAVID J. KERA is the senior member of the firm's Trademark and Copyright Practice Group. His practice includes opinions, practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal board, and federal court litigation. He is a nationally recognized authority on trademark licensing.
A former Administrative Trademark Judge of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Mr. Kera has co-authored the annual review of developments in U.S. trademark law for the International Trademark Association (INTA) since 1990. He has been an adjunct professor of law at the George Mason University Law School and the Franklin Pierce Law Center and has lectured widely on trademark law and licensing for the INTA, Patent Resources Group, and numerous state and metropolitan bar associations. He has written and edited books for continuing legal education seminars and has appeared as an expert witness in trademark litigation. He has also lectured internationally on U.S. trademark law.
Mr. Kera received his Law degree from Harvard University and his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia and New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and INTA.
