RICHARD L. ALLEN is an attorney in the firm’s Electrical/Mechanical Practice Group focusing on patent prosecution. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Allen worked at Bard Access Systems both as an engineering intern, focusing on procedural devices in the medical field, and as a clerk for the division corporate patent counsel. Mr. Allen also worked on designing water purification devices in his undergraduate studies. Mr. Allen received his Juris Doctorate from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2009. While in law school, Mr. Allen was an editor for the law journal IDEA: The Intellectual Property Law Review. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah in 2006. Mr. Allen is admitted to the Virginia State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
