Philippe J.C. Signore, Ph.D.
Partner
PHILIPPE J.C. SIGNORE is a partner in the firm's Electrical/Mechanical and Litigation Practice Groups, and heads the firm's Design Patent Protection Practice. His practice encompasses all areas of patent law including obtaining utility and design patents, reexaminations, reissues, drafting legal opinions, licensing, and enforcing patents. His technical experience covers a wide range of technologies for applications in the aerospace, automotive, energy, consumer electronics, computer hardware and software, and packaging industries.
Dr. Signore received his Law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. He received his Ph.D. in Physics in 1994 from the University of Florida, where he studied superconductivity, low temperature physics, and magnetic materials.
Dr. Signore is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar, the Virginia State Bar and is licensed to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executive Society, the Intellectual Property Section of the American Bar Association, and the American Physical Society.
Dr. Signore is French/English bilingual. He teaches a class on U.S. patent law at the Center for International Industrial Property Studies (CEIPI) in Strasbourg, France. In 2002, Dr. Signore was the recipient of the 30th Annual Rossman Award as the author of the article in the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society "that made the greatest contribution to the fields of Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights."
