Alexandria, Va. – The law firm of Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, P.C. announces the launch of its ITC 337 Law Blog, to serve as a forum on matters involving intellectual property disputes before the International Trade Commission (“ITC”). The blog will help users stay current with newly filed cases at the ITC, recent decisions, and helpful practice tips. Further, it will serve as a resource for quick access to relevant statutes, rules and procedures, and the ITC Website.

“Our firm decided to start the ITC 337 Law Blog in response to the rising interest in section 337 practice and the recognized need for a forum for sharing information relating to this unique type of litigation. The ITC continues to gain popularity as a preferred forum for intellectual property owners to enforce their rights,” said Barry Herman, who, together with Thomas Fisher co-chairs Oblon, Spivak’s ITC Litigation Practice Group. “Despite the growing popularity of section 337 litigation, there have been very few resources in the public domain that provide reliable up-to-date information and comments on issues relating specifically to this practice, until now. We expect our blog to serve as an informative and useful site, and we welcome comments and ongoing dialogue from others who are interested in ITC 337 law.”

The ITC has emerged as an increasingly preferred forum for intellectual property owners to enforce their rights. In 2008, the ITC instituted approximately 50 new investigations, a more than 30 percent increase from the previous year. Oblon, Spivak’s ITC Litigation Practice Group consists of seasoned intellectual property trial lawyers, many of whom have advanced degrees in the electronic, chemical, and mechanical arts, and litigators skilled in the ITC’s complex rules and procedures. The firm’s attorneys have decades of experience litigating patent disputes under Section 337 in the ITC.

Assisting clients for 40 years, Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, P.C. is one of the largest intellectual property specialty firms in the United States. The firm provides a full range of intellectual property services, including litigation matters in all courts, as well as trademark, copyright and patent interference services.
