Oblon Spivak Attorneys Appointed to Leadership Positions in the American Bar Association

Alexandria, Va.–Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P. is pleased to announce that attorneys Jonathan Hudis and Scott McKeown have been appointed to leadership positions within the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section (ABA-IPL).

Mr. Hudis was reappointed Chair of the Trademarks & Unfair Competition Division for a second 1-year term. He is a partner in the firm’s Trademark and Copyright Practice Group, and counsels clients in trademark, copyright, trade secrets and unfair competition matters, as well as related matters pertaining to the Internet. He also is a frequent writer and lecturer on trademark and copyright topics. Additionally, Mr. Hudis currently serves as a member of the Section's CLE Board, Books Board and Content Advisory Board, and previously served as Chair of the Section's Trademark Legislation Committee. Mr. Hudis is the Editor of A Legal Strategist's Guide to Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Practice, published in 2010 by ABA Publishing. Also in 2010, the ABA-IPL Section honored Mr. Hudis with the Outstanding Leadership Contribution Award.
Mr. McKeown was reappointed vice-chair of the Post Grant & Inter Partes Patent Office Practice Committee. He is a partner in the firm's Post Grant Patent practice group, focusing on post-grant counseling, litigation and related prosecution issues. He leads the Post Grant Patent team responsible for electronics, wireless communications, software and computer-related inventions and business methods. Mr. McKeown is an editor of the firm's Patents Post-Grant blog, regularly contributing insights and commentary on existing and proposed post-grant options, trends, practice tips and news relating to patent reexamination, reissue and patent reform legislation.
