Oblon attorneys and staff participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Buildable Hours program on Friday, July 24th. Buildable Hours, Inc. is a Washington, D.C.- based nonprofit organization founded in 2001 that pairs law firms with their local Habitat for Humanity organization to commit financial and physical resources to build homes for deserving families. This year Oblon partnered with the Northern Virginia Habitat program, which works directly with first-time homebuyers in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, and Falls Church.
The project took place in Oblon’s backyard in the Groveton area of Alexandria, VA, and involved the construction of two new single family units. Oblon team members worked on building and installing infrastructural beams for the two houses and also began landscaping the yards. The houses are projected to be finished within the year.
