In Memoriam, Gregory J. Maier
Gregory J. Maier 1943 – 2013
It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of one of our firm’s founders, Gregory (Greg) J. Maier, who passed away peacefully, May 23, 2013.
Greg was a recent past President of the firm, and was a founder and former managing partner of the firm's Electrical and Mechanical Patent Prosecution groups. After joining the firm in 1970, Greg developed those practice groups into the nation’s leaders in obtaining electrical and mechanical patents for our clients.
Greg was also widely recognized for his patent law expertise, serving as a past Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA/IPL), the world's largest and oldest organization of intellectual property attorneys and was consistently named by international publisher Legal Media Group as one of the top 25 patent lawyers in the world.
Just as Greg was a great leader and mentor throughout his life, he continued to be a model leader even until his last moments and he will be greatly missed.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Prior to January 15, 2015, all media and firm news items reference the Firm’s former name. As of January 15, 2015, the firm now operates under the name “Oblon.”
