Leading Intellectual Property Law Firm Oblon Spivak Relocates Headquarters

January 3, 2003 (Alexandria, Va.) -- The intellectual property law firm Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, P.C., is pleased to announce it is relocating its headquarters to Crescent at Carlyle at 1940 Duke Street, effective Monday, January 6. The firm has leased 205,300 square feet (see photo by clicking on the link, above) of the 210,00 square foot building and will use the remaining space for restaurant services.

"We are thrilled to finally be in our new office, after watching its development over the past two years," said Marvin Spivak, Oblon, Spivak's managing partner. "The space is beautiful, and the location is quite prestigious and convenient. We created a terrific mock court room, conference room centers and a separate audio/visual room, and we have all the best resources for the benefit of our lawyers and clients. It certainly is exciting to start the new year here."

"Last year was another terrific year for the firm," said Spivak. "We were victorious in many important litigation matters and our firm argued the Festo case before the U.S. Supreme Court. This past year we were number one in terms of the filing of trademark applications and we have filed more than 5,000 new U.S. patent applications. We also increased our staff and billings significantly, as well as our litigation practice. We look forward to continued success in 2003."

Monument Realty, LLC developed the site, and architectural firm SKB designed the firm's space. National brokerage firm Transwestern Carey Winston had also worked with Oblon, Spivak in their search for this premier location. The firm's continued growth has also allowed them to maintain their leadership in obtaining patents in the United States. In 2002, the firm obtained a record 3,462 patents; their first place position has not been broken in 12 years.

For more than 30 years, Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, P.C., in Alexandria, Va., has remained one of the largest intellectual property specialty firms in the United States. The firm assists clients with a full range of intellectual property services, including litigation matters in all courts. The firm also continues to be unmatched in its handling of transactional matters relating to intellectual property.
