Nathan S. Zwartz is a technical advisor in the firm’s Electrical and Mechanical Patent Prosecution practice group, where he focuses on drafting utility patent applications in the mechanical and electro-mechanical arts.
Prior to joining Oblon, Mr. Zwartz worked at a law firm in Chicago as a patent engineer, assisting Fortune 500 companies in patent preparation and prosecution as well as analyzing patentability of inventions for various technologies – including automotive, process control, manufacturing, and data measurement hardware and related software. Additionally, Mr. Zwartz was awarded a grant by the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) for the research and development of mechanical transmission systems and methods for mechanical power transfer. Leveraging this experience and knowledge, he is able to work effectively with inventors to understand their inventions and provide enforceable litigation tools to protect client assets.
