Biography

Eugene Dariush Daneshvar is a technical advisor in the firm’s Electrical Patent Prosecution practice group where he is involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.  Dr. Daneshvar specializes in medical devices and neuromodulation methods, neural probes and electrode design, MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) microfabrication methods for sensors and actuators, as well as electroactive and shape memory materials.

Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Daneshvar worked as an independent technical advisor and managed intellectual property portfolios for startup companies.  His clients included companies developing implantable medical devices for neuromodulation therapy in treating urinary incontinence and overactive bladder, atrial fibrillation, and a variety of neurological disorders utilizing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS).  Dr. Daneshvar has also consulted clients on use of electroactive materials for consumer electronic and biomedical products. 

Eugene completed two internships with Medtronic MiniMed in their departments of Electrical Engineering Research and Development & Quality and Reliability.  He has written several technical reports, published scientific papers, as well as made numerous presentations at professional conferences.  In addition, Dr. Daneshvar has taught several courses at The University of Michigan including Biomedical Instrumentation, Biomedical Innovation Design Process, as well as trained and mentored Graduate Student Instructors on best teaching practices and management strategies.
