Todd Voeltz is a patent agent in the firm’s Electrical/Mechanical Patent Practice group. His focus is on preparation and prosecution of patent applications, including application drafting, strategy and examiner interviews for domestic and international clients within the electrical technologies.
Todd has technical expertise in the fields of computing and data processing including generic control systems & applications, measuring, calibrating & testing, computer hardware, financial business practice & management, artificial intelligence, software development, telecommunications, including LTE, 4G, 5G, networking, Internet of Things (IoT), mobile applications, antennas, global positioning systems (GPS), wireless sensor networks, packet networks; electrical circuits, inverters, converters, control systems, feedback loops, phase modulation, floating cells in memory systems, flash memory circuits, circuit isolation techniques, and transformers, 3D printing, magnetic sensing, imaging, autonomous vehicles, automotive technology, and well field technology.
Prior to joining Oblon, Todd worked at a local patent search firm for seven (7) years as a Team Lead of a commercial search group and as a Director of PCT search group. He managed a large team of patent analysts and is skilled in personnel development, training and teambuilding. His technical experience includes analyzing cutting edge technical disclosures for numerous inventions.
Todd also has extensive experience while working at the USPTO for twenty (20) years. As a patent examiner & primary patent examiner, he worked in field of electrical generator & motor structure, power supply or regulation systems and power conversion systems. In his final six (6) years as a Supervisory Patent Examiner, he managed & trained patent examiners in a diverse group of technologies within computing & data processing systems.
