Electronics & Semiconductors
The companies we represent in the electronics and semiconductor space range from small fabless design companies to large semiconductor manufacturers. We work with industry leaders as well as growing entrepreneurial companies in microelectronics, memory design, semiconductor processing and device fabrication, game design, communications systems and services, network equipment, etc.
We pride ourselves in easing the load on inventors and in-house counsel so that they can rely on us to help them implement their intellectual property strategy with minimal oversight. Critical to this process is developing a deep understanding of our clients’ technologies and business objectives, so that we can help them secure and protect patents that are technically accurate and complete, and that bolster their business strategy.
With an office located directly adjacent to the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office’s main campus in Alexandria, Virginia, our professionals meet daily with USPTO examiners. Our personal approach to advocacy ensures that the examiners clearly understand and appreciate the novel and nonobvious features of each of our clients’ inventions. As a result of our discussions with examiners, we can obtain patents more cost effectively and rapidly than competing law firms.
We believe that intellectual property—particularly U. S. patents—is a fundamental business asset, which must be able to withstand validity challenges in post-grant proceedings, and validity challenges or non-infringement defenses in litigation. By leveraging our experience as a leader in post-grant practice and litigation, we apply best practices during prosecution to enhance the likelihood that our clients’ issued patents will survive a validity challenge.
