Akihiro Yamazaki is a partner and member of the firm's Management Committee.  He is also a member of firm's Chemical Patent Prosecution, Pharmaceutical/Medical Devices and Litigation practice groups. His practice includes patent litigation, opinions, client counseling, licensing advice, due diligence studies and the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

A patent attorney and native of Japan, Mr. Yamazaki represents primarily foreign companies, including their U.S. affiliates and subsidiaries, with respect to a wide range of chemistry-related and pharmaceutical technologies. These technologies include active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulations, semiconductors, light-emitting diode (LED), organic light-emitting diode (OLED), and optical parts and components.

With experience in both litigating and prosecuting patents, Mr. Yamazaki frequently travels to Japan and counsels Japanese companies to identify issues and challenges and to protect their interests in the United States and worldwide. Mr. Yamazaki also provides advice regarding intellectual property matters through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the U.S. court system, and legal trends impacting client industries.
